Members are invited to join in by filling open leadership positions such as Vice President, Membership Co-Chair, Retention Chair, Sponsorship Chair, and Legislative Co-Chair. Volunteering with the board or on committees provides meaningful opportunities to shape events, projects, and advocacy efforts.

Upcoming Events

A series of major events is on the horizon for NABIP-Dallas. On May 21, the chapter will host a luncheon at Walnut Glen Tower featuring Julian Sado speaking on “The Future of Health & Human Interaction.” On June 11, the annual Board Induction and Luncheon will take place in Plano, with Rusty Rice as guest speaker. In July, Jared Leshin will present a webinar titled “Guest-Seat to C-Suite: Using Podcasts to Open High-Value Doors.” August will bring the NABIP-Dallas Rockstar Sales Summit, a full-day program promising advanced sales strategies and networking.

At the national level, members are encouraged to attend the Harold R. Gordon Annual Awards Gala at the NABIP Annual Convention in Miami on June 30. This prestigious event honors the Person of the Year for outstanding contributions to the health insurance industry. A separate ticket is required, and space is limited.

Professional Development and National Involvement

The newsletter calls on members to apply for NABIP national committees, with applications due May 16. Serving on committees is presented as a way to influence the association’s direction and strengthen its impact nationwide. Additionally, members are encouraged to apply for the Leading Producers Round Table (LPRT) by May 31, offering access to exclusive benefits and top-tier networking with industry leaders.

Advocacy and PAC Efforts

NABIP-TX PAC remains a focal point for advocacy, supporting legislative candidates who champion accessible and affordable health insurance. Members are invited to contribute monthly or through one-time donations, helping sustain the PAC’s work in representing industry professionals and consumers alike.

Washington Update

On the national stage, NABIP continues to advocate vigorously on multiple fronts. Key updates include enhanced premium tax credits, developments in the House Energy & Commerce Committee, and ongoing Medicare policy discussions. Members are reminded to complete ACA Marketplace surveys, log meetings with lawmakers, and follow the Trump Administration Tracker. The update also notes that healthcare debates in the Deep South continue to echo civil rights struggles, underscoring the importance of persistent advocacy. PAC updates emphasize the role of member support in advancing these initiatives.

Conferences and Conventions

The 2025 NABIP Annual Convention in Miami, June 28 through July 1, remains a central event for members nationwide. With a theme of “Connect, Innovate, Lead,” the convention promises a mix of education, networking, and leisure. Attendees will engage with industry innovators, explore solutions in the exhibit hall, and enjoy a balanced experience of professional development and relaxation.

Resources and Member Benefits

The NABIP Resource Hub continues to offer a wide range of guides, eBooks, and case studies. This month’s featured resource again highlights the tax advantages of Section 105 Medical Reimbursement Plans.
