Newsletter Summary
The February 2026 NABIP-Dallas Newsletter showcases a powerful mix of education, advocacy momentum, and professional development opportunities for members.
The month’s featured event, “Beyond Borders: Insurance for Global Employees” (February 18), equips brokers and advisors with practical strategies for navigating international employee benefits. Led by global benefits expert Breia Foston, the session explores employee classification, compliance considerations, revenue opportunities in global markets, and employer duty-of-care obligations — while offering one CE credit.
Advocacy remains front and center. The Washington Update recaps a landmark 2025 year, including:
• Preservation of employer-sponsored coverage tax exclusions
• HSA modernization and telehealth safe harbor protections
• Introduction of the Independent BROKERS TIME Act
• Removal of regulatory barriers such as the 48-hour Scope of Appointment delay (pending CMS rule finalization)
• Strong bipartisan engagement supported by $133,500 in NABIP PAC contributions
NABIP also secured new quarterly advocacy meetings with CMS, strengthened its policy influence nationally, and helped pass first-in-the-nation drug pricing transparency legislation in Virginia.
Looking ahead, members are encouraged to attend Capitol Conference 2026 (February 22–24, Washington, D.C.), featuring high-level policy discussions, breakout sessions with congressional staff, and strategic advocacy training. Registration is also open for the NABIP-TX Annual Conference in April.
Professional development remains a major focus. NABIP-TX is offering REBC® certification courses with flexible payment options and scholarship support through the Hollis Roberson Scholarship. Members can also pursue recognition through the President’s Triple Crown Program and apply for the Leading Producers Round Table (LPRT).
The newsletter further highlights:
• A membership renewal incentive program
• The Ken Martin Scholarship fundraising campaign
• A new NABIP-TX mobile text alert system
• Employer and Medicare market resource toolkits
• The NABIP Resource Hub with downloadable educational materials
Overall, the February edition reinforces NABIP’s core mission: empowering agents and brokers through education, advocacy, recognition, and leadership development — ensuring members remain influential, well-informed, and positioned for growth in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
